We'll Keep Dropping Lead Shot
Gamebore confirms continued lead ammunition supply for US shooters
We'll Keep Dropping Lead Shot
Recent news from both sides of the Atlantic has put lead ammunition firmly in the spotlight.
In Great Britain, new restrictions will see the use of lead shot phased out by April 2029. Here across the Atlantic, however, President Donald Trump recently reaffirmed his administration's support for traditional lead ammunition in the United States.
Speaking to hunters, anglers and outdoor industry leaders at the White House in September, President Trump announced an executive order protecting the use of what he described as “affordable, traditional lead ammunition.”
His message to those gathered was characteristically straightforward: “You wanted it, you wanted it and I’m here for you!”
Well, American Gamebore shooters, we're here for you too!
While the legislation in Great Britain will change the ammunition available to shooters in England, it will not bring an end to Gamebore's manufacture of lead cartridges.
At the heart of the Gamebore factory in Yorkshire, England, stands something increasingly rare: its very own fully operational shot tower, where the lead shot is dropped for our world-renowned cartridges, and it will continue dropping lead shot beyond 2029.
Gamebore will continue to manufacture lead shot and load lead cartridges for export to international markets where their sale and use remain permitted, including the USA.
So, the Gamebore cartridges that have developed such a loyal following among American shooters aren't going anywhere. From competition favorites including White Gold, Dark Storm and Rose Gold, to increasingly popular game loads including Black Gold Dark Storm and Regal Game, our commitment to US shooters remains unchanged.
We know that news of Britain's move away from lead has begun to reach American shooters, so we wanted to make one thing absolutely clear:
Great Britain's lead restrictions do not mean the end of Gamebore lead cartridges in America!
